Die Melkstal offers comfortable self-catering accommodation on a working sheep farm, located on the banks of the Gourits River just outside Mossel Bay. It’s the perfect option for guests who want to explore the scenic Garden Route while enjoying a unique farm experience. Depending on the time of visit, guests may have the opportunity to watch sheep being sheared and see the skilled sheepdogs at work.
 

The cottage accommodates up to 6 guests and consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom is equipped with 2 single beds, and the second bathroom also has a shower. Additionally, 2 single beds are available in the living area.

The open-plan living space includes a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The kitchen leads to a cozy lounge area and a dining table with ample seating, where guests can enjoy meals together.
 

Outside, guests can relax in a lovely garden space with outdoor furniture and a braai (barbecue) area — perfect for evening sundowners. A braai grid and utensils are provided, and firewood is available at an additional cost.

The farm offers plenty to do, and the surrounding area boasts a variety of activities such as fishing in the Gourits River, rock fishing, beautiful picnic spots, and wine, olive, and gin tastings. Guests can also enjoy game viewing, hiking, cycling, jogging, and 4x4 dune driving.
